City of Chicago: 19th & 23rd CAPS

Here in Central Lakeview we enjoy not only a beautifully diverse community, but a very safe community as well. Such safety and diversity would not be possible without the on-going diligence of the dedicated Police Officers and concerned citizens of the neighborhood CAPS Program.

CAPS – Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy – is a working partnership between police, community residents, and City government. Police Officers continue to enforce the law and respond rapidly to serious crimes and life-threatening emergencies, but also communicate regularly with concerned neighbors, and enlist their assistance with community outreach activities. CAPS recognizes that the police alone cannot solve the City’s crime problems; it takes a combined effort of police, community, and City government working together.

Together, we are working to identify and resolve neighborhood problems, block by block, to maintain the safety, diversity, and high quality of life in Central Lake View!
