Rhythm Of The Night
Back for its third run on August 23rd 2008!
Showing off some of the best of what Lake View has to offer, its theaters, CLMA's Rhythm of the Night wowed a spellbound audience again in July 2007. The extravaganza, now in its third year of production, is a tapestry performance from area theaters including Theatre Building Chicago, Bailiwick Theater Repertory, Links Hall, The Playground Theater, IO (formerly Improv Olympic), Comedy Sportz and Stage Left Theater and other local acts. It is the only production of its kind in Lake View.
Just about every talent imaginable from tap dancing and singing to acting and playing musical instruments is highlighted on stage during the event where guests are treated to striking artwork, hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
Our theaters are gems in the community and we want you, the residents of Lake View and those of you visiting Lake View to see for yourselves why we are so proud of them and the entertainment they provide, said Larissa Tyler, CLMA's Executive Director. I created the show not only because I feel the theaters need the exposure, but mainly because they deserve it. These performers are so good, so talented and so creative and I simply want more people to know about it. Tyler went on to say.
CLMA's ultimate goal is to boosts subscriptions and business for these venues through this annual event which hopefully will translate to increased business for restaurants and other establishments neighboring the theaters.

The Central Lake View Merchants Association (CLMA) focused on fashion putting on its third annual How Lake View Looks Runway Fashion Show. Featuring Lake View merchants showing off their most fabulous fashions, hairstyles, and latest make-up trends. The show is designed to celebrate how businesses and residents bring the wonderful eclectic styles of Lake View to life. How Lake View Looks Runway Fashion Show is an annual CLMA event, held at the world famous Cubby Bear (1059 W. Addison).
