While Lake View is a very walkable neighborhood with much to see and discover, there are of course other transportation options. If you want to work out, the 18-mile lakefront path is a mecca for cyclists and runners. Along the way you’ll see some of our 33 beaches, plus tennis courts, athletic fields and one of the eight Chicago Park District golf courses. In-line skating, ice skating, miniature golf, bowling and every other type of recreational activity are readily available in Chicago.

Bicycling
Recently voted the best bicycling city in the country, Chicago is very accommodating to cyclists. Lake View connects you to the 18 mile trail that extends to the northern and southern boundaries of Chicago along the lakefront, as well as provides bike lanes on major arterial streets. The Chicago Department of Transportation’s Bike Program provides comprehensive information about city biking including maps, parking, and more.

Bicycles are permitted on Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) trains and the CTA’s 2,000 buses are equipped with bike racks. Biking along Chicago’s 18-mile lakefront path on a clear summer day is a very enjoyable experience.

Should weather not allow these greener modes of transportation, check out one of the many car rental, limousine, or chauffeur services available. CLMA would be happy to assist you in finding the transportation option that best suits your needs.
